Ahhh the call of the siren...

Poem Artwork

The North winds tore at the sheets of canvas and hope

The crashing waves salted the men till pickled in brine

Thoughts of home should have been, but they fled from the mind

The seductive ladies of the deep called leave this world behind

Smiles of temptation whispered live your eternitie’s wishes

Those sweet red lips filled with passion that earth God dismisses

We’ll love you and hold you to our naked breasts you may cleave

We’ll fill your desires so you cannot wish to ever leave

Then they called to the Captain, they called to the mate

They called to the cook and the cabin boy Nate

Let go of the wheel, the rigging and the mast

Put your arms in ours say goodbye now at last

Heed the call of these sea ladies the winds screamed in our ears

They’ll be your lovers, your mothers and end all your fears

One by one we all weakened and to the deep we were led

Neptunes ladies to attend us in the land of  the dead.

Bravo! I love this line 'The crashing waves salted the men till pickled in brine'. Though they're naughty gals, I love prose that shows a woman's power of seduction...

Great form and this is where you excel my friend. Your spirit is one with the sea and your calling lies within the inbetween of your words. You are a sea spirit if there ever was one and the sirens of the sea are your fate.
Excellent Felix.
Love and peace,
Susan

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
