Only One or Two

Tears on the dashboard, there’s blood on the road

His one drink too many, was too heavy a load

Laughed when they told him, to give up his keys

Now two little children won’t sit on Dad’s knees

Someone else paid the price for the his personal sin

Too late to be sorry sobs in the night can’t even begin

Tears on a dashboard but blood on his hands alone

They’ll bury another child’s father who’ll never go home.

So very true and yet always so ignored, the horrors of people being not responsible while driving or drinking. Both just does not match and no one can be lucky in the event! Wonderful done,

An only too true sceanario of everyday life, and it's always the innocent who are killed!
We have had a vicious spate of hit and runs here in the last two weeks, louts mowing down pedestrians, late at night or during the day, most drunk whilst driving, time for much harsher penalties.

A sad write to get across a much needed point, ty Leroy :)

I feel the regret here that comes too late. A friend of mine teaches a class for the state of Florida where the DUI's attend as mandatory. I've seen the pitures he uses and, believe me...you don't want to be a statistic. That's what you are when you drink and drive...you choose to drink...you lose your freedom, someone else's life or your own but more is involved when families are left to condition pain that has no answers and can't be conditioned..

Oh I know the price of that problem only too well
My boyfriend lost his leg when he was hit by a drunk driver
Thanks for sharing this eye opener
God bless

You highlight the horror and lunacy of those who drink and drive...
It's a fatal combination !
