Changes and Hope

My little Princess granddaughter Jaime-Lee///

Changes 

You know I seen a lot in my lifetime
Like the gruesome body bags of war
Of child soldiers like the boy next door

Awed, I watched a man walk in space
To plant an American flag on the moon
It seem the glory faded all too soon

Watched three good men assassinated
As will, as a lying president impeached
A country’s faith was slowly breached

So yes like many I lost sight of hope
That this world and man could survive
At times questioned if it was worth it
…to even be alive

Then I got to watch a Princess grow
Shy smiles, blonde hair. blue eyes
I saw the fate of man is in our children
It’s finally time for us all to realize…

I couldn't agree with you more, Fee!!!! Children hold the answers to the way the entire world should live and treat one another...but far too many grown-ups just don't "get" it! I sure do understand you're feelings for your grandchild....there's no one I love more than my little Max!

Fee, great write. I love the way you blended history with the future and placed it all in the hands (some might say, laps) of our children and theirs.

PS: Not to get too political on ya, but I believe that we still have time for our generation to "take the bull by the horns" so to speak and begin to turn this mess around.

The future is our children and there is nothing better than seeing them grow...Being a mother has given my life purpose. My autistic son is a miracle and amazes me every single day!! All we need to survive is love...My son just said to me today that when I hugged him his heart felt warm. I hope I get to see my grandchildren grow up, or at least meet them before my time...
