Surrender, musically adapted

A collaboration of my poem, Surrender, and Joe Ford's musical work with the Delian Society.

Poem Artwork

"Surrender" is set for male chorus and was recorded by our Delian
Colleague in England, David Solomons:

It may take a while to download the embedded mp3 if you have a dial-up
connection.  You can download the music alone from the following link:

The final "s" in the poem is turned into the sound of a gust of wind or
a gentle wave.  The highest voice has most of the text, while the lower
voices sing "surrender" in its original and increasingly abridged
forms.  The last line (which, by the way, sounds very biblical!) is
spoken.  The style of the music was suggested both by medieval polyphony
and Tibetan Buddhist chant.
