ON Nov 4, 1972 we said our vows and steped into a world of love and unending devotion.
Forty years ago we were married on November 4, 1972.
My heart sang a thousand songs of happiness as I became your wife under swaying palms on a sunlit day.
When I first met you, I knew we were destined to be together. There was something so endearing and special that drew me to you.
You courted me, becoming my husband and soulmate. You accepted my children, became their mentor and father. You loved, nurtured and guided them ,trying to teach important life lessons and values as years flew by.
As they matured, you held my hand when they left and went out into the world.
Family gatherings and holidays have always been a part of our lives and have kept us together as a family unit.
You unselfishly gave so much of your self to them and me.
It's hard to beleive forty years have gone by since we first said our, "I Do's". You were the man of my dreams who stole my heart and held it captive in your tender grasp all these years.
Last year when we went out on our thirty nineth anniversary,we had a romantic dinner at a resturant as we watched the orange sun set over the Peace River. We talked of plans for the coming year and our life together. Neither of us realized it would be our last one together.
Now you are gone and all I have left are those wonderful memories of the love and life we once shared.
I love and miss you my darling. I'm sending you this very special anniversary letter on our special day of days.....Forever yours, Mary

There is love, then there is the kind of devotion it takes to hang tight through thick and thin. Knowing how vulnerable you both are
makes it hard not to look for excuses to split. You and your husband had the character and the courage to keep building a life together and
making sure it stayed strong. That you cherished each other! I won't pretend to know exactly how you feel, but having been happily married for more than 58 years, I grieve for you. . .and am deeply touched and inspired. Your wonderful memories will always be there to help light the way when it is dark. You and he earned them, didn't you.
Please keep Ray and me in your prayers. He is havingajor surgery Tuesday [11/20/12], and we can't help but be scared.
