the Christian monk, disrespectful glory Hallelujah seeker for scrubbing off the text of the Greek mathematician Archimedes, a valuable, teaching medieval document, to write his own Christian prayers, at a time when the Greek mathematician Archimedes work was less appreciated,
perhaps God is making the long-dead Christian monk teach mathematics in Heaven as penance and scraping the rivalry manifesto from man's deserving work,
for it is the value of all knowledge that is relevant for the growth of the people, and not by Religion alone, in which the Christian monk devalued honest, hard work to place his own on top of the scraped goatskin, wiping out Archimedes, (Palimpsest, meaning "scraped again.") and again...and again...
Wow, Sage. This is incredible. It makes me wonder what knowledge never saw the light of day that might have changed the course of human history for the better (or for the worse, but I prefer to believe the former). Really profound poem.

You are so right, Sage. It is demeaning for God to be "embarrassed" in this way - even if it is through the rather over-zealous attempts of a devotee to bring EVERYTHING under his auspices. There is enough of God's OWN fingerprints around, at work in and through all of His created works, without having to "contrive" them. But, my, this is fascinating... I just LOVE your use of knowledge to enlighten and instruct us, Sage. This is almost alchemic... wot fascinates me is how peeps got to know HOW to produce the "x-ray" effect in the first place... ionised iron and all that. Totally boggles my little mind. And we think it is US who live in the "scientific age"... ahh, but the monks of whatever persuasion got there first, right??
