Sunrise with the Grain Bins

walking the
cattle chute the
short distance she
is transported from
memories as a child adopting
an orphan lamb to a prophecy; a brand
that would one day withstand the red hot heat...
[Sage Sweetwater]

threshing done
we've separated
it is due process
grain get away from
the husks

law of the land
winnowing the chaff
the heavier grains fall
back down for recovery

you knew in advance
that caring for a pack
and overseeing the group
spirit would take the patience
you gained from your childhood
to guide us and all things gaia

you knew in advance
the easel had sturdy legs
and you weren't about to trade
your dream for a winnowing fork
that it would blow away in its own
time

and you knew in advance
the custom built boots were
made for walking the sunrise
with the grain bins fostering
your salvation

and I knew in advance
a complex idea can be conveyed
in a still image and set in the mind
where photographic memory can
pull it up when the need arises

yes..I did know about those grains
& too I have since also learned
I am my own savior
We all are our own saviors
breaking the false rules
seeking our own truth
our own destiny

Ah, the place from hence you have escaped. And you weren't allowed to trade your dream for a winnowing fork.

Grain elevators in the distance reminds me of ICBMs when, filled with grain dust, can be launched by a single spark or lit cigarette.
