Residual of the aftermath.

Poem Artwork

can opener

cut into the heart

artichoke bleeds

flag unfurled

the day after

watermelon seeded stars

blackpowder residual

cosmic pinwheel nebula

space cannon fired

wild mustangs

give independence its name

land of the free

turning point

vision of reality sifts to earth

disintegrated volcanic ash

july fifth

reminder the sky

is our everlasting ceiling of protection

I have never known you to wax scientific, but the atmosphere is here and it is one of the reasons, even though volcanoes give off exciting fireworks and earthquakes take the ground beneath us, if it weren't for the air we breathe and the protection it gives us from all sorts of cosmic radiation, Sundance wouldn't be real and the old West wouldn't exist.

In answer to the others' question: a little Photoshop would help.
