It may be
The seed
It may be
The need
It may be
The weed
Designating 
It X 
Rendered in
Uppercase letter
Nothing comes
Before or
Next some see
A chevron others
See black spots
She paints the
Rorschach inkblots
 
See us
They want
To be us
A twinning
Duo drawn
Out to exhaust
Neurons and 
Glial cells
The nerves weary
Leery of trial
And error the jury
Has convened the
Bystanders morphined
Silenced on verdict
Put to sleep 
Hypnotized
Anesthetized
Induced to 
A loss 
 
Unconsciousness
Asleep the six
Cylinder jeep
Delivers C-rats
Canned wet combat
Rations three months
Four months
Six bits
A dollar
Worth 
Pork & beans
Corned beef
Ham & lima beans
Gum
Hardtack Biscuits
Ground coffee
Sugar & Salt
Tobacco with
Rolling papers
Smoking for
Long periods
Spaghetti in
Tomato sauce
The War
Goes on
 
Because
You invested
Your money
There...where
X marks
The spot
The Rorschach
Inkblot the map
To a fortune in
C-rats now MREs
Let's have
Supper!

yes, move on is all there is. supper sounds kinda inviting. with this poem so lyrical and melodic, i think i might just take a finger dip in that pork and beans. thank you for this, Sage..once again, i have enjoyed your piece.

What a feast for the reader! The map showed clearly where to hunt for the treasure… The X marks the spot, for sure. Are we on the verge of another war over whose ex serves the supper?

I forgot to tell you that I love your original artwork, dots and all. ;-) You are a tiger in panther's clothing.
