My Grandpa Favorito left the earth over twenty years ago and I miss him very much! When I think of someone I want to be like, I think of my Grandpa.

Poem Artwork

My Grandpa, My Guardian Angel

I visited him in the hospital one day.

They said he did not have long.

I pinned my Captain Bars on his pajamas.

He thanked me and got up from the hospital bed.

He said he had to “Make his rounds.”

I did not understand.

He visited each person one-by-one.

He took care of their needs when a nurse could not be found.

I asked him why he was not resting in a bed.

He said “he felt fine” there were others that were hurting bad.

It was a few weeks later and my Grandpa left the earth.

An angel no doubt who was called for heavenly works.

This was over twenty years ago and I miss you Grandpa!

Your Loving Grandson,

Johnny boy

A wonderful, loving tribute to your grandpa, John. My grandfather ,Samuel , died when I was 15. He was a giant of a man who slowly surcumbed to the raveges of senility, now called Alzheimers. I fondly remember him as I miss him. My first son was named after him and I have written stories about his childhood that he shared with me. Mary Grace
