Congratulations to my Grandson Jay!

I wrote this poem to my grandson, Jarell because he graduated with very high grades from Sunshine Elementary in Miramar, Florida. Additionally, he recently caught his first fish (a nice size Snook)and his photo and name was placed in a local paper. I wanted to capture both achievements in one poem for him. Congratulations Jay!

Congratulations Jarell

We will never forget the day.

We had so much fun in Matlache.

You dropped in a line with a hook.

Then you caught a big ole’ Snook.

Everyone in town was so surprised.

They could not believe their eyes!

They saw the photo with boy and his fish.

You were in the paper, “Da boy gets his wish.”

So congratulations to you, young grad.

You’re growing up to be a fine lad!

You have done well so far;

and now you are a grad.

You have made all of us,

so proud, happy and glad.
