A Prayer Poem For A Thief

This is a true story about what happened this past Christmas eve.
Please join me and pray for a thief as Christ would want us to do. Thank You, Amen.

Poem Artwork

I went to the grocery store to buy some food for Christmas day.

I checked out at the register and started on my way.

Then I put my groceries down near the movie vending machine.

A man asked “Why are these groceries here?” He looked pretty mean.

I replied, “They are my groceries I just bought.” What else could I say?

He just looked strange and walked out the door and went away.

While at vending machine, I looked up and my groceries disappeared from view.

All my food had vanished and the manager said there was nothing they could do.

I pray that the food went to feed a poor family or a hungry kid or two.

Yes, every family deserves to experience a Merry Christmas.

A Christmas as Jesus intended but certainly not like this.

So let's pray - for the thief that is lurking somewhere within our mist.

Pray for people who commit crimes and go astray.

Pray that they will seek Jesus and will truly find The Way!

Amen

When I read this I am at first angry someone would steal your food, then puzzled about the strange man and his nerve, and then this question forms in my head: what sort of hunger compels one person to take another person's sustenance? Was it a literal hunger, or something else?
All kinds of thoughts and emotions from one act. Good write, John!

I always said no one has to steal from me as all they have to do is ask and if it is in my power to help then I will do my best.

Newfie hugs, Rose

Sorry this happened to you, but all you can do is pray for the man and others like him. I will pray that God blesses you by replacing the food you lost.

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(
