Our English language is full of various slangs. "Kicking the can down the road" is one in which political folks made famous.

We often like to “kick the can!” Why kick it? We kick it because we can! Our government leaders are experts at “kicking that can” and waiting until next time. So, they just “kick the can down the road” once again and, relax with a glass wine! Now what did we learn about kicking that can? We have to do it sometime so let’s do it while we can…. We also know that every day is the perfect day to procrastinate! So why not kick the can down the road right now. Why wait? Talking about government leaders kicking the can struck a nerve with me. Why fix something now when you can push it off on the next generation--when the problem will be hundreds of times worse.

Yes, putting off the inevitable until there is no time left to put it off because we are dead.

My brothers used to stomp on cans so that the cans would stay on their shoes and run to try to scare people with the sound of them "coming to get you". 'Enjoyed!!
