Mingling With Metaphors

Something like this actually happened many moons ago when I was single and pretty darn lonely. I used a series of metaphors to explain my plight. They are highlighted for sheer delight. LOL

Poem Artwork

Birds of a feather flock together but one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch.

We shouldn’t judge a book by its cover especially with one glance during lunch.

She looked as gentle as a lamb and seemed as quiet as a mouse could be.

But I had to be as wise as an owl or she could have got the best of me.

One night, I spotted her again, so I thought I’d try a different tack on my own.

She was like a light in the sea of darkness and I was so tired of being alone!

She did seem like the apple of my eye but at the end of the day I got cold feet.

She opened her mouth and profanity came out like an 800-pound gorilla in heat!

Well, sometimes fools rush in and we should know better than to do that.

For infatuation and puppy love can make a lonely heart seem to be...just as blind as a bat!

LIKE THE WORD SAYS, 'ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD...' THE WAY I SEE IT, YOU WERE ON YOUR WAY TO THE LOVE YOU WOULD HAVE FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE AND THAT NEGATIVE-ENCOUNTER MADE THE 'GLUE' BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR 'TRUE' LOVE, THAT MUCH STRONGER. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

You use those metaphors in the form of clichés to illustrate your angst with the single life very well.

In those days, it seemed like all the single girls had some kind of psychological hangup that prevented them from being real. Strangely, I met several married women who seem to be very much on an even keel.
