Thanksgiving weekend is almost at its end
The relatives came and went; now we're among friends
Leftover turkey and pumpkin pie in the fridge
Folks playing games - from horse shoes to bridge
That warm good time feeling just fills the cool air outside
Eating turkey three times; a waistline we cannot hide!

My Thanksgiving this year, like so many, was simply here at home with turkey with all the trimmings that I will eat for many days to come, thanks to modern freezers. I am grateful that my partner, who doesn't eat turkey dinners, is such a good cook. My family and I send greetings to one another as their families, now grown to two more generations, celebrate small get-togethers.
