Fundy Tides

To those who live along and appreciate the Cobequid Bay.

Soft gentle winds
Blow over cool waters
Grasping mists of moisture
To drop on thirsty fields.

This cooling tidal breeze
Comes twice every day
In from majestic seas
Up through the Fundy bay.

Reddish swirling current
Pushes back the rivers flow
As bay of fundy tides
Makes the river grow

Water level rises
Over fifty feet
Fresh water pauses
Then hastily retreats

No match for natures wonder
The power of the tides
Whirlpools pulling under
Boats that dare the rides.

To breeze of no concern
As it floats over countryside
Relieving summers burn
Where shaded people hide.

Waiting for the comfort
Brought by cooling breeze
Thankful for the relief
Brought by natures seas.
