Always will be an Herods after Christmas, the one usurping a position by force and tyrannical woes upon the children of the Father.
How many children need to die in vain until we attain world peace?
Herods was afraid,
a mighty King arrived
send by His Father.

Thankyou Edvard, for all the innspiration you have afforded this reader over the last year. Your creative mind is sharp and fertile. Cool one, Georg. We do have somewhat of a mystery surrounding King Herod's role in the story of Jesus. According to historians, Herod (the one Matthew referred to) died in 4 BC. He was known as the "King of the Jews" and was elected by the Roman Senate to rule all of Judea. Following his demise, he was replaced by Archelaus, 4 BC-AD 6. The confusion stems from "Herod" being a title rather than a name, and there were 6 Herods ruling that area at different times. Most scholars agree that this gospel was written toward the end of the first century AD, so a bit of confusion is not surprising.
