In a world where everything has a price...we can't be surprised if...

Poem Artwork

Very soon the TODDLER
will learn the meaning
of have been utterly alone,
surrounded
by so many people but
with nobody really around;
the silence
was no made
with absences of sounds,
it was from his mother's tongue
that he got
the absence of words.

Very soon the BOY
will learn the meaning
of a slamming door,
like the angry
scream of a pistol
killing the peace
with just one shot;
the raised hand that brings
no caresses
or a touch of love;
it will be, when
his mother push,
that he will learn
how to fall.

Very soon the MAN
will learn
that along the way
his heart was lost,
tossed in a crossroad dich
by life's traveling
without return;
with smiles buried in yesterdays
and tears bitter taste,
let it known
that mother
were teaching you
how to be old
before childhood.

Very soon the OLD MAN
will learn that
nobody will come
knocking on his door,
no one would see
his wrinkled face
or say something
se he can hear a word;
he would know
that he came to life
with promises without,
sold by an uncaring mother
giving a damn about the price,
because he so unwanted...
was born.

This poem is so moving and so honest. I wish it were pure fantasy, but I know it is not. It is real in very many lives of people today. Blessings, J'nia

Very strong and all too real write my friend reminded me a lot of the King's song..."In The Ghetto". Children do not volunteer themselves into this world so they should not have to pay for life from the moment they enter it until the day they pass from it.

Wow, Georg! If what you write is meant to distress, you've certainly accomplished this this time. How sad! How inhumane! Very well written from the heart of the man this lonely boy became, I think.

Your progression of infant to old man is striking and sadly factual more so in this era of supposedly most enlightend people, but in truth today's parents are the derelicts in this "meism" age! Exceptional poem! I'm so proud of my brother Edvard,the eldest,
who has such wisdom!;-)

Georg, a superb piece of writing, tracing the painful indifference
from toddler to old man. Beyond the writing skill, your poem is
powerful and so moving in its honesty. -gene.
