Reposting because AD have some difficult to get it in my page.

You look in the mirror and nobody is there, life didn't pass like a flash because there was never a life but a wish, and the dream of Shangri-la was wakened by the Siren's songs of Utopia...
Oblivion, who said that man wasn't an island?

Poem Artwork

Oblivion…

…the state of being disregarded or forgotten
after one has touched the philosophical stone
not learning nothing new or remembering old,
it was an inconsequential touch to a wishbone
that suddenly was there for no other reason
than for your miserable little life to disown.

…the state of being disregarded or forgotten
after setting the world afire and ashes left alone,
with no hope of a Phoenix bird ever to raise
and coming winter to be flying south to home,
where no twigs will be found to made a nest
and where the sun bleaches the losers bones.

…the state of being disregarded or forgotten
after kneeling in an empty church with a groan,
remembering a soldier left in no man’s land
asking for help in a forest made of tombstones,
Purple Hearts for limbs left behind and souls
scarred by the silence answering so many moans.

…the state of being disregarded or forgotten
after giving all, open heart no conditions done,
ashes that the wind will take on invisible wings
as a sarcastic laugh from liar love it will come,
nobody will remember, cos…nobody ever knew
you existed, let alone be aware that you were born.

Sometime oblivion is the only escape. A buffer against the emptiness. Powerfully done.

My hand raises in sincere salute to you Georg my friend and peer. This work is deep, intense and speaks with the presence of mind of one who has known the best of life and sadly the worst of life. I felt this one way down inside and to me as a poet that is the best compliment I can give for it what I judge my own work on. Great work my friend.

"No twigs will be found to make a nest", and the misery continues, karma? and if so, then it would reason IT continues, and you'll be remembered, is that what you want? Or are you just crying into your Coors??????????????,I think, you are thinking too much, write that book, and you'll be remembered for a long time, get on with it.

These thoughts could apply to most of the third world.
As well as most of the veterans that gave so much and
came home to cold shoulders.

And I saw the chaos, first hand: B.Lack and Blue Friday, when all the idiots get out there to be the first in line to get the must have items. Could have waited to go to the store, but Karen sick: colds wait for no one. Saw people fighting, shoving, yelling at the top of their lungs. And then there are some of us who won't be having a Christmas this year. The elderly. Disabled. Worst of all, many Veterans. Shame. Powerfully penned sadness, George. Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

There are no words to describe how this poem makes me feel that would serve it justice. I can only say, You really know how to hit those chords in all of us. We have become a society of selfish beings. Something must give soon.

Much peace, love, and light,

Sometimes, Georg, there are not enough words, or, for me, sometimes the words escape my mind when I want to respond to words such as these. How can anyone of conscience forget or discard those that have given so much so we can be safe in homes or safe in our lives or to give a helping hand to our neighbors.

Sad one, Georg; I know how you feel! I wish they'd help the Veterans, the elderly, and the disabled, not just the children! There are plenty of adults who could use a helping hand, especially now with Christmas coming up!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in America, Karen Lynn in Texas. :(

“Oblivion…” takes my soul to the sorrower’s deepest well of grief
emotional ache so hurtful …we can’t do much about cruel hearts though
I think they are all remembered, the beauty & not so …

This is just as sad as when I was finally able to read it on your last post. And I truly hope we will all make an effort to finally recognize those disregarded or forgotten, especially our valiant vets.
