The Red Red Rose
Petals soft and silky smooth
with moisture from the glistening dew.
The scent of love fills the air.
Given with deep love to share.
A trembling hand to hold the gift
and with his love, the spirit lift.
Velvet red the color glows__
forever love it has foretold.
Upon her favorite page is pressed
the rose in all its glory rests.
Placed inside with a loving hand
that wears a golden wedding band.
Decades pass and the two moved on.
The loving tribute to their bond__
upon her favorite page still lies,
testament to a love that never dies.

Some time back you visited my den and left a review of my poem A Lovely Rose. Perhaps you might visit, again. While there read two other postings: A Walk In My Garden and The Kiss.
You and I seem to share at least two things: Roses and testaments to a love that never dies. Besides that, I still love your name. Maybe I'll go to court and have my named changed to yours. Strike that. Just another rash thought. I don't think my wife would like having to suddenly call me Elizabeth. No. She would probably prefer something like Charlene.
I'm feeling great! Have you ever tried rose wine? (Just kidding, of course. Didn't want my review to be boring.)
