Take My Hand

For all my friends here at AD--you know who you are. I've been knocked down many times in my life and always managed to get up, but sometimes a person is knocked down with such harshness they can no longer see the light at the end of the tunnel and it takes time to recover. I need that time now--hopefully I will return. This little poem demonstrates how you have extended the hand of love, friendship and support to me. I am and will be forever grateful.

Take My Hand


I cannot take away your pain


nor ease your troubled mind,


but let me take you by the hand


and help the light to shine.


I知 always here to stand by you


no matter what the time.


I値l listen when you feel the need


and help you up the hills you climb.


I値l wipe the moisture from your face


and dry up all your tears.


I値l share your many worries


and help you face your fears.


When that light comes shining through


and your soul begins to heal,


I値l be standing next to you


sharing in the happiness you feel.

Take my hand, let's walk together.

I love the sweet sincerity of your words, Elizabeth. I've taken some knocks myself and I totally understand the importance of the support of those close to you to pull you through. Of course, I wouldn't hesitate to be there for them in return. Come back soon.

Because of its simple honesty and sincerity this poem glows with the warmth that only a big heart can put into a friendship. Very well done Liz...felt like you were talking one on one to me...and smiling to think that I may have friends such as this.
