TWIN-Spin:  Sure-Footed

         Art E. Proctor & Rhonda S. Galizia

There was a young lady who lived in her shoes

The man who adored her was lonely and blue

But, only because, she didn't reply
To his beckoned call, or poetic cry!

Of a love that could, and surely, should, be;

" Clad in shoes, or barefoot; means naught to me!"

He coaxed her, he begged her, he coddled her and pled

But the lady pulled her laces, tighter, instead!

She thought he would never, empathize or feel

The sole of her being, the pain of her heel!

So she kept him at a distance, with stiletto ease

While he took up flying, out on the trapeze!

He catapulted to new heights, just to appease
While being kept at arms length, and constantly teased.

But flying the high-wire, did him no good,
As she wasn't
falling, like he thought she would.

No, not at all......because he fell instead!

She almost died...when she thought he was dead.

She rushed to his side,  and stuck out her shoe

Said, " O' Man, a dead-pan, just will not do!"

At just the right moment, he opened his eyes,

MUCH to her chagrin, and yet, awesome surprise

She saw The Lord looking back, from those love-struck eyes!

And so now the Queen-of-Shoes just rationalized...

At last, her own eyes were opened; she really could see

That, he would, and truly could, love her righteously!

Moreover, she discovered, she loved him, too

So now there was only, one thing left to do...

She kicked off her shoes, and knelt by his side

Kissed him and said, "I'll be your Godly bride!"

"But godliness with contentment is great gain."  I Timothy 6:6

It's about how middling we are and middle means middle only like a big middle and class isn't school and outing's not a trip.
