A friend I was camping with brought up the threat Obama made about the debt due in August. He sugested after long conversations about the whole thing someone should write a poem about it doncha think Art? So I did. Art
It's time for us to take the Reins I heard our president the other day- and could not believe what he had to say
The threat was scary and real as hell to me- the image of the devastating result, I could clearly see A warning they say it was meant to be- yet the potential chaos looms over us threateningly If the debt is not timely laid to rest- the tenacity of our citizens will be put to the test
As for me a disabled Vietnam vet the bubble may burst-as they usually cut government benefits first but that won’t dent this debt hardly a bit-cause it’s been ignored a long time in the name of profit
all “The People” will suffer in varied ways-as our leaders always use us somehow to get the bills paid
So we’d better let them know that we expect:
Our elected heads with their power and might-to get together andplan a timely
Wholly Victorious Fight !

After all it does say *of the people* by the people and *for the people.
