Pretty Chloe, the charms she shows and shies,
the fuss--she's one pulchritudinous puss,
of angora swath, with panda-wide eyes,
to wit, to watch, suspicious of a ruse.
Should commotion come of motion, she streaks,
treads carpets to shreds lading her beauty
beyond hope of reach; friends visit, she freaks;
my suitors she flees, owner-be-booty!
Alas, love's no relief neurosis-wise.
Did nosiness unnerve my fearful fluff?
Scared-to-death of some nemesis surprise?
Litter’s last-rescued lass, reason enough?
What's that some say? Pets reflect the owner!
How could I help it so few have known her?

P.S. Blessed with 14 wonderful years of love and companionship, my precious Chloe sadly passed away, September 25, 2004.
and aren't most cats so independent they make us
a bit crazy trying to get their attention!
Shear poetic 'purr-fection' - charming ... loved it!
