Raindrops and Children

I have five grandchildren and they do not seem to be able to pass a puddle left by the rain without stomping through it. That is what prompted the next poem.

Poem Artwork

Raindrops and children share one thing in common; they play in the rain.

They both love splashing in puddles as long as puddles remain.

The raindrop simply is absorbed in the puddle and becomes a part.

The child kicks the raindrops this way and that until the water is forced to depart.

Raindrops that land in the grass or garden are absorbed and feed the flowers.

The children land in our hearts; their love and passion soon becomes ours.

We know that we could not live without the falling rain to replenish the soil.

We also know that without the wonder of our children there would be a void in our soul.

When you see the rain falling from the heavens above

You will see children playing in the rain. They are easy to watch and easy to love.

Keep this in mind as you watch your child grow.

He will most likely learn things that we will never know.

Each day of living is a day of learning and growth.

Learning to laugh and sometimes cry and find comfort in both.

Splash little raindrop and fall where you may.

You, like the child brings growth to all of us each day.

Thank God for eyes to see the rain, sun and trees.

Thank God for the flowers that blow in the breeze.

Raindrops ... these are a few of my favorite things [Sound of Music, I think]

I hope your grandchildren enjoyed this as much as I. Wish it was raining, so I could go stomp in the rain. It's still one of my favorite things to do.

That rain is a wonderful gift. Like a tear it soothes the weary traveler, and brings a rainbow for the promise of another day. Enjoyed

The rain fascinates the child because of its association with bath time. Most kids don't like the preparation for bath time, yet, they don't want to get out of the tub when they're having fun playing. The puddle stomping is a form a being a rebel. (I get wet when I want, not because someone tells me to) sort of thing. I like this write.

Too precious! I wrote one once about "Liquid Sunshine," about how it is irrisistable to little girls to not jump in puddles...well done, Lew.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Raindrops and children were meant to be together and you captured that perfectly in this charming write! Very well done, Lew; bravo!
