We should be knowledgeable and learn what is really scary and what is not. We are much more likely to be scammed on the Internet by someone we think is our friend rather than being robbed or assaulted. Much more likely to be in a car accident than many of our other fears. Fear of taking a vaccine can cause us serious illness or even death.

Scary stories initially told at a tender age, engender frightening dreams that rage. Makes us sometimes afraid of the dark, and afraid of what lurks under the bed. a shoe falls from a shelf in the closet, a monster is created in a little one's head. So many critters get a bad rap. Wiggly worms are slimy but great bait. Snakes, not slimy, eat roaches and rats. Spiders just want to catch bugs in their web. Bats eat mosquitoes by the bushel. Wolves fear us and have strong family ties, Bears are more curious than dangerous. Sharks just want to swim free from lies. But there are real fears that we should abide, Driving on thin or black ice is an unsafe ride. Let real fears scare you like your bad heart. So go out in the world and do not hide. Malls are not scary places, nor are carnival rides. Lightning will not strike you, if you lead sensible lives. Copyright 2019 © Ronald W. THERE ARE ALL DIFFERENT KIND OF FEARS AND I THINK YOU HIT IT ON THE HEAD RONALD; WE GROW UP WITH CERTAIN FEARS THAT BECOME A PART OF US AND ARE VERY HARD TO TURN AWAY FROM. ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE A PART OF A PERSON'S CULTURE AND HERITAGE. BECAUSE, AT THAT POINT, IT'S NOT JUST REJECTING WHAT IS NOT TRUE, BUT TO SUCH AN INDIVIDUAL, IT'S LIKE REJECTING WHO THEY ARE. AND NOT ONLY WHO THEY ARE, BUT WHO THEIR FOREFATHERS WERE...THEIR HERITAGE! AND THIS CAN BE SCARY...BUT FOR AN HONEST SEEKER OF TRUTH, GOD WILL BRING CLARITY AND MAKE THE DIFFERENCE. Scary is when a professed who said of the greatest magnitude declares the truth is a lie, light is dark. Driving in dense fog is a most unsafe ride.The critters we should fear walk upright on two legs and tell us we can trust them. "Scary", a wonderful little ditty that stimulated my thoughts on entertainment and personal credos. May peace, love and happiness be always with you. Jon Michael

Fear is an emotion created by perception and can vary from person to person depending upon their point of view. However, there are factual things that exist as they are independent of the perception of those around them. An earthquake exists on its own as does a hurricane or a fire or a lightning strike or a mad shooter. Their characteristics are unchanged by those who watch them happen. I like your deft use of the human perceptions to illustrate the concept of fear.

I agree with the other three. If I watch less news, I don't get the blues. The details they tell us about peoples lives is none of our dam business. As far as I know, the sun is shining, I have a good life and a wonderful wife. We all have plenty to eat and we can give away plenty to charities of our choice. Without the grubby details on the news, I would be far better off. Amen my friend...

As Michael stated, most of our fears of today come from the TV, Internet & word of mouth. If it wasn't for outlandishly scary movies we would never know of fear so into fears face just be tough and sneer...-e-
