Please don't leave me alone with my thoughts.

Because together my thoughts and I create our own reality, our own truth.
We don't believe the words you say; only listen for the ones never
spoken.
To us there can exist no loyalty or trust, only suspicions and doubt.

Please don't leave me alone with my thoughts.

Because if you do, I'll lie awake wondering who you are when we're apart---what type of life you life when the door shuts between us.
I'll put you in places I wouldn't want to know you visited, or with people I thought you were better off without.

What? No, you have it all wrong. I do want to have faith in you. I mean, when you say there's no one you want to be with but me, I treasure that. When we're together the world around us doesn't seem as
threatening. And when the words "I want you" and "I love you" continually roll off your tongue and into my ears, mind, and heart, I do
hold that dear, because at that time I believe it to be what you really feel.

When we're together there can be no doubt that there is sincerity and
truth between us. As long as you're here I am secure with you and
myself; but please, I beg you no matter what else you do…
don't leave me alone with my thoughts.
