In sad whispery sighs, the wind told this story.
In a green summer mist, Life once embraced
Courted and kissed, And often misplaced;
A child in disguise, Part angel, part human
with ebony eyes, Deep and consuming.
He dances and poses, In little blue dreams
With rain drops and roses, Pressed on his wings
His heavy black hair, Tangeled and wild
His mouth a faint sneer, In the ghost of a smile.
He says not a word, But speaks with his eyes
And only I heard, The whisper of sighs
And visions beheld, Both bad and good
The emotions there felt, Only God understood.
In a quiet hour, Of unconditional love
I presented a flower, To the master above
So lovely a flower, So rare and so fine
That God gave it power, To take root and vine.
It covered the fields, With strong vibrant leaves
Then crept up the hills, To cover the trees.
With revelation knowledge, Of the all seeing eye
This unruly foliage, Was never to die.
Nourshed and fed, For the love of a child
It flourished and spread, To cover the wild.
Throughout the long nights, Of warm summer eves
Its been said that black lights, Peek from the leaves
Of this green growing sign,And mockingly defies
Both death and time, Through ebony eyes
And has made pledgence, To cover man kind
So goes the legend, Of the wild kudzu vine.

Kudzu grows so prolifically that it has to be cut to prevent it from overgrowing anything on its path. And it all starts with tiny seeds that fall onto soil. It indeed defies death and time. Kudzu has kin that does not even remotely resemble it from the outside. The main processes occur inside, outside the reach of most eyes.
