**GRANDMOTHERS**

When I was just a little child,
maybe two or three,
I remember a sweet old lady,
would bounce me on her knee.
Her eyes were as blue as sapphire,
Her hair was as white as snow.
And she was the very best grandmother,
that anyone could know.
Her hands were always wrinkled,
from washing clothes all day.
And she would always carry her bible,
to bed, before she prayed.
But the years go by so quickly,
and before you wonder why,
you find that you're a grandmother,
with just a blinking of an eye.
But you're still not feeling older,
until that faithful day,
when you hear your daughter tell you,
she became a grandmother today.
