A Boy's Christmas Prayer

Dear Lord, I know that I am small
and haven't much to give for You,
But what I want, Lord, most of all
is day by day to live for You!

Will you help me to tell my friends
that Jesus Christ died to save them,
to tell them of life that never ends
because His own life He gave them.

And will You help me kind to be
just as Jesus was to others,
loving and helping cheerfully,
(even my sisters and brothers?)

Help me to live a clean, pure life
shining with brightest love for you.
When temptation I meet, or strife,
Lord, help me ever to be true !

This is the birthday of your Son
and I have just one gift -- so small;
I know it isn't much, dear One,
but I give You myself -- that's all!
