Some people are "different." No getting away from it! Some will blossom and live in peace; others will live in depression and neglect. These are all God's special people.

When life hands you a lemon, Squeeze it with all of your might! When every day's a burden, Just live each one with delight. And when you know you're “different,” Though you may not know just why-- Well, calculate your blessings And walk with your head held high. Sometimes folks hurt your feelings; They may treat you with disdain. Some folks can't perceive God's love, So they try to cause you pain. GOD knows the YOU He fashioned-- That you're not "one size fits all" -- He made you not a tad too short Or even one inch too tall. He thinks you're someone special-- You're the perfect shape and size; For God does not make rejects-- You're the Apple Of His Eye! I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14 Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings Psalm 11:8

Beautiful poem, Connie and I love the bible quotes too. I chose a good day to read it as the lyme was dragging me way down low. Thanks for bringing me back up.

I recall as a child growing up I always stood up for those that were treated unfairly or bullied because of their being different. I still do. And then, at 20, I became different, but was still the same me inside my brain in spite of the obvious difference in my body. I was ostracized many times by well-meaning, but ignorant, people who thought they were doing me a favor by leaving me out.

Why is it that the very people that want every embryo to be born, sometimes with very debilitating conditions, only to turn around after they are born and call them "abominations." Is this not the height of religious (and political) hypocrisy?
