Written long, long ago in the Age of Marilyns, when it suddenly dawned on me...how powerfully culture and fashion determine what's "beautiful."

I am not blonde, but can’t I be a goddess? I am not tall, but can’t I hold the serpents? Yes, Little Lady of Crete, locks of brown, bare breasts, round belly worth many kisses, you too can have a scallop, and ride the sea swell.

A telling probe into the world of aesthetics, Venus revisited, redefined...and indeed the Snake Goddess has her own special charms. Lovely lovely work.

True--culture, fashion and time change what is considered beauty. There was a Twilight Zone segement that dealt with that topic and the ugly one was a woman that would be considered a knock out by our culture.
