Poem Artwork

She pranced through the promenade entry

Strolling right past her enemy

She smiled

She gazed

She spoke

She left them dazed

“Hello Crescendo.”

She walked right up to the throne room

The jesters and the magi started singing a different tune

Casting spells, cursing, cutting themselves

Calling on all their gods for help

No remorse they felt

She left them dazed

“Hello Crescendo.”

Her eyes could melt the sun

Her legs – well - I had to run

Her beauty I could compare to no one

She had the knowledge of a thousand Solomon’s

She had the envy of every woman

She didn’t trust any man

Hearts of lust – understand.

I tried to speak – you know

I couldn’t even make myself say “Hello”

Walk on by

Are you a stigma of a lie

Or are you a dream in a lullaby?

I’ll never know

“ Crescendo.”

Hi Doug, the feeling of being uncertain about someone is a bit scary. I'm no stranger to that, been there a couple of times. Great write, enjoyed. Peace and love in Christ.
