Having always tried to side with good, trying everything I could
to lean in the right direction, I have found that, the more good
you try to accomplish in this world,  the more bad will try to
challenge your reflections, and, the more bad moves in, up
against you, the more good we need to do in order to rise above it,
but, I have come to a point in my life, having always tried to side
with right, that the wrongs have overbore my strength to fight the things
that I’ve strived, becoming, and therefore, I am here to say . . .
I’m giving up! I’ll steer my own directions from now on, thank you...
and if anyone or anything gets in MY way, so be it! I’ll run them over
on my way to wherever it is I’m heading. . . I will not sit back any more,
making sacrifices for ungrateful people! I’ll sit back and pave
my own choices and take with me, only those who can appreciate
what I have done, and what I’ve been trying to do,
and, what I’m just about ready to do! All the rest of you,
you can side for yourselves . . . and if and when, anyone,
who I’ve left behind, decide its about time they try and side
with the good, trying everything they could, to lean in the right direction,
they will find that the more good they accomplish, the more bad
will try to challenge their reflections . . . and the more bad moves in,
up against them, the worse their going to feel . . .
and, they too will give up. . . because I did!. . .
and then, they can all sit back and blame themselves for their own misery. . .

Tell it to the worms . . .

" I have found that, the more good

That's true... what's the solution? (without switching to the opposite side)
If you have any suggestions, I am really really ready to listen! :-)

All of us can relate to this feeling. I believe we've all been here at one point or another in our lives.

Life is like that. Cultivate carefully, and you get worms. That's why I just eat them and move on.

I know how you feel. Everything that we once held dear in life - and I'm talking about the values that we all shared - have been deconstructed by so - called 'sceptical strangers' to the level of dust. Through subsequent reconstruction of this residue by these same sceptics, good has become bad, wrong has become right and sane has become insanity. Hardly surprising that we despair at the negative actions that we don't want to do but we find ourselves reluctantly doing. In other words, our natural desire to do good pushes against the tide of societal antipathy that resents it - yet I am convinced that beneath the waves of this malcontent lies a huge swell of suppressed good waiting to burst forth. Come quickly, I say.

Dai

Hi Kimmy,

I understand this poem very well. In fact, just this morning I was feeling this way. Well written.

Best wishes,
Pat

You've run into a roadblock, Kimmy. Life is an obstacle course where we meet challenges of every description and magnitude known to man on a daily basis. We can choose to remain behind the obstacle, or we can go over, under, around or through it. Your choice is not going to greatly affect others out there who have provoked the kind of thoughts you've expressed in your poem, but it will affect you in all you do. We have to live our lives according to what is best for each of us, thus feeding our own humility so we can extend it to others. I pray blessings will come your way and reward you with positive strength.

Yes, tell it to the worm that raise early to the day's work only to be taken by the bird.
That worm should had leave thing alone, stay in bed, and feel sorry for himself, that's safer than going for the bird.

It is SO easy to feel this way... but... unfortunately it just doesn't bode well with being a mom...

I'm going to continue doing good, the best I can, to bring light to others - I'm not giving up hope. No matter how many storms come against me, I have hope in God, Who gets me through. We must make a better world, around us ... it begins with me, with a Declaration of Independance. :) Excellent, Kimmy, well done.

(((HUGS))), love and prayer, Karla.

We must make our own decisions and pave our own way, and yes it does seem sometimes it is a lost cause, but if we do not keep on fighting for good, if we do not continue to reach out our hands to those in need, if we are not able to forgive, if we decide it is every man for himself then...
they have won and we have lost.

Great write full of anger and passion.

Karen,

Thats the work of the enemy, the enemy cannot stand for good, and loves to challenge our durations of emotional stability, and most definelty our faith.

Absolutely Right On, Kimmers! This sounds a lot like a Kimmers Declaration of Independence, and it is a bridge we all come to, sooner or later. I was lucky, I crossed mine when I was only 25, and life sure does get better!

Kudos!

A bit of humor, yet mixed in is the truth that we all sometimes face. I for one can relate well to your words and now I do all the things that I want to do, what is important to me....

Be always safe,
Karen
