A poem from my heart to my beautiful, precious Cheyenne. She will be with me always.

Poem Artwork

                                  Cheyenne.......

                       Precious angel standing
                          so proud and so tall.
                         Wherever she may be
she comes running when I call.

                         Her hair is snow white,
with a sun kiss of grey.
                     She would almost disappear
                         on a bright sunny day.

                       The sparkle and twinkle
                        her eyes they did shine.
                        She was so very smart,
I just knew she would do fine.

                  She could easily open cabinets
                        and swing open doors.
                 When all else failed underneath,
look close you would see her paws.

                           She died in my arms
as I held her so tight.
I loved, hugged and kissed her
                           long into the night.

                        I knew God was calling,
I sensed her soul take flight.
Did not want her to go,
but her eyes said it was alright.

                          I miss my companion,
                        my soul mate, my friend.
                           I loved her beyond,
but she knew in the end.

Very touching piece. I too am a cat person and my cat Quagmire is amazing. They are very special creatures. Thank you very much for being my first poem review, I appreciate it... This is a very moving piece I am quite impressed. It makes the fact that you read my poem and left a comment seem even more meaningful. I am sorry about your loss but you are so right with your attitude towards this death. Best wishes, Mark

Karen,

Cheyenne lives on in your memory and now in beautiful poetry--what a tribute. I'm sorry for your loss. People say losing an animal isn't as hard as losing a loved one. Pets ARE loved ones, and I don't agree....it's never easy. No more greeting you home; no more purring you asleep; no more comfortable kittywarmth on your frozen toes. I know you miss her...again, I'm sorry.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Had a pet like that too! Her name was Nig, named after my uncle. She was jet black with a trace of gray due to age. I loved her dearly, she as you stated was my companion, my childhood companion...I got her when I was about nine or ten, she passed away when I was sixteen. Nothing like the love from and for a pet. Enjoyed this so much.
Blessings,
Joyce Bowling
