Poem Artwork

                          Rainbow...........

                  Woke up not in daarkness,
but in a room full of light.
               To see a rainbow forming,
inside my home, a treat, a delight.

Late last night forgot to close,
              shades, blinds and curtains.
               An every night occurrence,
                      a ritual for certain.

Our home faces east to west,
must be careful what I do.
Each morning try to do my best,
                        only open up a few.

Can not be in direct sunlight,
but how it makes my spirit soar.
                   To glance down and see,
a rainbow streaming across my floor.

Tried to be still and quiet,
if I moved it might go away.
                        A room full of color,
this rare sight sure made my day.

But alas, my three little angels,
patiently waited all three in a row.
For me to get up and out of bed,
                 to open their favorite window.

Turned around for one last peek,
                      at pastel colors for sure.
God's gift was etched, another memory,
                    the rainbow was no more.

Karen, a beautiful poem. Rainbow's a mystical treasure we cherish for only a short time. It seems they bring the childhood back to us.

The simplicity of a morning trying not to wake you up too sudden, so, it commanded a rainbown to tiptoe in your romm until you were ready.
Great way to be awaked, great way to write about it.
