A day spent in a park can help settle nerves, offer peace of mind and soothe the soul.......
A heaenly sight..........
Just another day having fun outdoors,
skies are clear, clouds are as one.
Feel the suns warmth upon your face,
so many children are having fun.
A walk through the park, a heavenly sight,
water so blue, grass soft and green.
Sweet melody resonating of birds flying by,
they stop for a while and begin to preen.
Children glowing with cheeks of pink,
a spirit of peace, free from all plight.
Some gather around, jump rope they play,
a time to rejoice, a beautiful sight.
A few boys join, decide what to play,
gathering their friends, they put out a call.
Some come running, others walk,
the word is out, time to play ball.
Families gather, picnic baskets in hand,
with strollers, walkers, blankets and toys.
A day to celebrate, unwind and relax,
chance to spend time with their girls and boys.
Off in the distance, trees waving gently,
squirrels and deer resting in the shade.
Bees and butterflies are everywhere,
a day of blessings has surely been made.
This poem has brought me back to my childhood as I noticed the green grass of the park, and how the grass felt against my bare feet! Your poem reminds me of how important it is to enjoy nature, and if we take the time to capture these simple moments, it can bring joy to the heart. We don't need to go far to calm our nerves, sometimes all we need is to go to the park around the corner or just a few miles away. The green scenery, fresh air, and sounds of birds are soothing! Excellent!

Ever notice how little children gather around the sliding board and the other things and laugh and play and do great things with each other. They go up to each other and Say will you play with Me. What a great invite from a little person to another little person and to make friends that way. Parks are beautiful and full of scenery too. Brings to mind I WAS STROLLING IN THE PARK ONE DAY < IN THE MERRY MERRY MONTH OF MAY song title to my mind too.
Parks..a Universal, world wide joy! This is so beautiful, made me so happy that Spring is just around the corner! This is a piece I shall keep returning to when I need a lift! Thank you. Love, Diana.
This is so sweet--it certainly gives me a yearning to spend one of those wonderful days in the park. My personal favorite park is Rickett's Glen State Park near Red Rock, PA, where we spent many joyous relaxing times while our kids were growing up.
this is amazingly beautiful...your use of those lovely quatrains, the flow and rhythm blended with imagery so vivid it touches all five senses is outstanding.

This is a keeper and a beautiful poem I also find such peace when out in his creation it soothes the soul to be silent and enjoy the beauty that surrounds us.

I spent yesterday sitting by the lake/pond in a wildlife area. Today I'm in pain...Sunburn... But I sure know what you mean, we waste life staying in. One duck had 12 babies with her...

Bees and butterflies are everywhere,
a day of blessings has surely been made.
I'm quite jealous of what I've been missing. It's been raining here since last Sunday but today promises to be 60 and beautiful. A small touch of spring. Loved your imagery.
I can't say why, but in my head, the picture of a family recalls the ones seeing in the park, munching hot dogs, toddlers trying to ride the patience family dog, teenager with frisbees, Dad catching ball with junior, and everything done under the watchful eyes of Mom.
