Sometimes's it is fun to allow our spirits to run free at any age.....

The photograph was taken some years ago while we were watching the Jets at practice.......

                           Another time..........

Another day, another time when all was new,
a chance to skip, ride a bike, maybe just play.
Allow your mind to wander, imagine, dream,
what will you be, do and say.

Your spirit ran free with no strings, no ties,
just being you was always good enough.
Looking up at clouds, reaching for the stars,
when you grow up will life be easy or tough.

Were you a queen, king, prince or princess,
or perhaps flying high with angel wings.
A cowboy, cowgirl, ice skater or pirate,
clown, doctor, nurse or other things.

       Astronaut, pilot, railroad engineer,
      baseball, football, soccer super star.
Maybe your thoughts were closer to home,
being just like dad was more on par.

Summer was always an enjoyable experience,
to learn, explore, roller skate or climb trees.
         Running and skipping with the
                      sun in your face,
God's caressing hands in the morning breeze.

Never to be afraid to turn the next corner,
outside to play, imagine at will.
Each new day brought a mystery to be solved,
an experience that I am sure
                   you remember still.

Keep the spirit alive, never ever forget,
life is unfair, a child we cannot always be.
On those days when you are
                  feeling depressed,
           open your heart and mind
               let your spirit run free.

Beautiful. I have been an RN for over 33 years and it was tough and got tougher. This poem really hit home with inspiration that it's okay to be a kid again, even if only for a short time. Excellent write. Liz

Finding it very difficult to come to terms with being 50, I will treasure your final verse, Karen! But I'm not sure my spirit will ever be anything other than barefoot and on the loose! Love this, thank you. Kate xx

We just can't let ourselves get old,
youth goes but exuberance and passion
can keep us young. Excellent Karen!

Indeed "Another Time"
How treasured to reflect on yesteryear and allow oneself to be totally free. Growing older is inevitable day by day...however we can still try to let ourselves be free to each day upon arising~luckily we still have our imagination to reminensce holding which that makes up our past in a positive manner.

Sincerely,
From the Heart...
