I have written this little piece after reading "Special Request - Need AD Poets Help! a few days ago by Julie Donner Andersen. A small tribute for her daughter's friend Nicole......
Little angel.........
My bestest friend Nicole,
like me was only six years old.
God brought her home on Halloween,
like me, she was brave and bold.
Mommy will I get sick too,
rest in bed and cry all day?
We were gonna play outside,
with our friends, it is baseball today.
I want to play, but not alone,
where is Nicole, it is getting late.
Can we talk on the telephone?
maybe tomorrow we can roller skate.
Mommy why are your eyes red,
all puffy and you look so sad.
We go trick or treating tonight,
where is my costume, smile be glad.
Give me time for loving please,
come here mommy hold me tight.
I'm scared to be so all alone,
my bestest friend now in God's light.
With angel wings she is magic now,
but I know she is here, she can fly.
Be brave mommy cause she can see,
you mommy, why do grown ups cry?
Very sad and emotional written tribute
I love the way you have expressed the innocents
Little child!
Beautifully written and very heartfelt!!
Love Peace and hugsss to both of you....Morning Star
I have heard of children being able to see the souls of others, alive or dead. I believe that within pure innocence, there is where pure understanding lies.
I think of what my mother always use to say, "Out of the mouths of drunks and babies, speaks the truth"
My nephew once came upstairs from his basement playroom and said to his mom, "John was singing to me". . .She ask, Who? Where? ...in your dreams? in utter shock and amazement...He said, "NO, just now...downstairs." My nephew was only four at the time and never really knew his uncle John who had passed years before. . .
John was a musician.
A thought provoking write...and very moving!
Love and Peace~

This poem touches the honesty of children and the understanding they sometimes have that we, as adults, seek. This is a wonderfully written piece and I thank you for posting it.
My best regards,
chris
Yes, heartbreaking one, kind of wish to run to that little girl and suck the sadness out of her and fill the void with smiles.
Children should never be sad.

Oh, ((KAREN))...that was sooooo touching and beautiful. I am so honoured and blessed that you wold take the time to pen such a tribute to my daughter's friend. She surely sleeps with the angels. Thank you, my friend.
Great beyond description! The poem is beautifully thought-out, the perspective deeply caring and indicative of genuine understanding of how a child thinks and is likely to react, and the format so creative and fitting, it makes me jealous. In case I'm not making myself clear, I really, really love this, Karen. Feel sad for everyone concerned, but your poem is so good, I can't help but take pleasure in it. Thank you so much. You are a wonder!! <3 'Pea' <3

A very touching write my friend, written as a child would speak from the heart with the voice of innocence, beautiful photo by Robert compliments the poem well, makes a great combination! Well done!
I've missed reading your work as well as many others during the past couple of weeks, I've had Internet problems at home, and much going on at work with little time to log on, glad to be back this afternoon, glad to be connected again!

The innocence of a child – sweet and pure, but not understanding “WHY?” Kinda’ like a cake – beautiful, sweet, but when it’s gone you still want more and wonder why Mom doesn’t make another one or cry cause it’s all gone.
It's almost Christmas. Lynn Basil is writing her last book about a secret entrance into the magical doll land of Sha Bebe that she loves so much. Bagannos have taken over the world! Lynn finally meets her dolls in real life. Can she write in a Secret
Let this coming of age story of a boy named Bean take you back to a simple time. Set in a small southern town in the 1960's, encircled by a river and gleaming white cotton fields.
Heart touching and sad.
Karen you expressed this poem beautifully.
