Kitties and yarn.......


    Lonely skeins of yarn in a neat little row,
    wondering what they will turn out to be.
  Tan, yellow, mint green, orange and brown,
    a warm beautiful afghan for you and me.

    Can hardly wait to bring them all home,
    the weather is warm but I am so excited.
Hmm, a new scarf, mittens, maybe a sweater,
        perhaps a surprise so others will be
                            so delighted.

       All the way home, my mind is racing,
   thinking of all I could make, all I could do.
    I could make sweaters, one for each kitty,
     or maybe matching hats for me and you.

      When I came home, placed the bag on
                                the table,
       the kitties came running to see what
                              was bought.
  Bag ripped open, out fell a rainbow of yarn,
    kitties paws tangled,  you guessed it they
                              were caught.

 Tumbling kitties, around in a circle they fall,
     in between yarn and flying kitties paws.
          All tangled within a colorful ball,
  yarn everywhere, now unraveled and small.

      What an adventure to watch, as I was
                              taken away,
     cute little kitties having a frenzied blast.
        All rolling together immersed in play,
    my mind amused forgetting about the task.

     What joy those kitties bring to me today,
        as I curiously watched while amused.
              And those kitties were totally
                               swept away,
      excitement and fun, like a ball to a bat I
                                 must say.

    With a twinkle in my eye from what I see,
  forget the kitty sweaters, mittens and hats.
     No afghans knitted in fall colors for you
                                   or me,
     watching with joy, mesmerized and just
                              feeling free.
