To All Our Dear Friends...

We will soon be leaving again, off RVing, barbeques, meeting old friends and playing with the pets. We will be back one week from Sunday and while we are gone we will miss all of you!

From all of us to all of you, know that we love you and in our hearts you will remain.....

"Be Always Safe"
Karen, Robert and the gang.....

       Carnations and peaches......

Mankind never really knew her name,
or where she came from, nor where she went.
Twice a year, making the rounds,
through hills and valleys, she was God sent.

Pushing an old cart, never asking for help,
the scent within always permeated the air.
Carnations, tea roses, jasmine, and lilac,
apples, oranges, corn, peaches and pear.

Dozens of dainty little white baskets,
filled with fruit, vegetables, and flowers.
A cornucopia of bright pastel colors,
blended and fused with inspirational powers.

Preordained was the traveling route ahead,
God guiding with his hands of creation.
Plenty of stop and go along the way,
handing out baskets until final destination.

Just a frail little lady with work worn hands,
wind kissed white hair garnished like a crown.
Tarnished wedding band with skin grown over,
always smiling never once did she frown.

Spoke little English, was deaf and almost blind,
yet, somehow she managed to share good will.
Passions ran deep, her heart always made room,
just thinking about her, up and down sends a thrill.

Humble beginnings, strong belief in Christ,
survived so much and then strived for more.
Tending her garden from sun up to sun down,
no stone unturned, never leaving a chore.

She came and went with hardly a sound,
conversation just was not her delicacy.
Sharing with the sick, tired, poor, and hungry,
then vanishing into the slumber of efficacy.

In the hearts and minds of all she touched,
all these years later, her memory stands bright.
Her torch was passed on a long time ago,
for another to bring warmth, love and light.

The "unwritten record" of God's hidden saints is reassuring and uplifting; you were lucky to know her. Your written record of poetry reveals such a "feel" for that hidden America I long to experience.

Keep up the great work.

Such tenderness for an extraordinary little lady who was pure carat gold. Like a Mother Teresa of sorts. These angelic creatures appear so frail and delicate in their physique and smiling demeanour and yet they have such strength, as befits their inner radiance and resiliance. A beautiful testimony and portrait. Have a most wonderful playtime and come back with more tales of romps and family adventures! :)) xx

Ah, sweet Karen. This reminds me of an "eccentric" lady I had the pleasure to know during my hell-raising days in the sixties and seventies, over flowing into the early eighties. I don't remember her name, but I remember the tiny woman and her "project" very well. Everyday, if the weather permitted she would bring out a large plastic bowl full of torn lettuce and sliced red cabbage and place it on a picnic table in her front yard, which was enclosed by high-standing bushes. The "salad" and the paper plates with which to eat it on was her contribution to the hungry who walked the mean streets of Hollywood, California. She hardly ever made her presence known, hardly ever spoke to those who sat at the table to eat, but we felt her presence and love in the admittedly dry salad, there was no dressing, you see. She and this lady of the Carnations and Peaches are alike in their humanity.

Yes, you captured a living spirit with your beautiful scented words,
it enriches ones day just reading this, I had the good fortune of meeting simular beings as such in my young years, without them, life would be most banal. You have a great getaway and holiday.
