POEMA X
NAVIDAD SOBRE UCRANIA
El mundo se oscurece,
se abate la luz de las ciudades.
Cae la noche sobre Ucrania.
Los hilos rotos por las bombas
del cobarde invasor.
Los hilos que se enlazan otra vez
por las manos afanosas
de los héroes de Ucrania.
.
Cae el frío del invierno
y la gente corta ramas
hace fuego
se calienta las manos
con una vela.
Porque la línea de cables
de nuestros héroes
llegará mañana,
con suerte.
.
Y caen las bombas, otra vez.
El cobarde depravado
envía sus misiles
contra las casas de la gente.
.
Pero en la noche
continúa la lucha
contra el invasor,
Y en los pueblos, en el río,
de una ribera a otra
el paso lúcido y capaz
de nuestros héroes
avanza.
.
…Y hay en la noche,
en la gran avenida
de las luces del mañana,
un edificio con las sombras
yendo y viniendo,
y en la camilla un parto,
un bebé que nace a la luz
con el llanto y la bendición de su madre
que lo abraza
en su primera aspiración
en el nacimiento
de toda la esperanza,
En el Nacido.

CHRISTMAS OVER UKRAINE
The world is darkening,
the light of the cities falls.
Night falls over Ukraine.
The wires broken by the bombs
of the cowardly invader.
The strings that are laced again
by the caring hands
of Ukraine’s heroes.
.
The winter cold falls
and people cut branches
make fire
warm their hands
with a candle.
Because the cable line
of our heroes
will arrive tomorrow,
hopefully.
.
And the bombs fall, again.
The depraved coward
sends his missiles
against the houses of the people.
.
But in the night
the fight continues
against the invader,
And in the villages, on the river,
from one riverside to the other
the lucid and courageous step
of our heroes
advances.
.
…And there is in the night
in the great avenue
of tomorrow’s lights,
a building with the shadows
coming and going,
and on the litter a childbirth,
a baby being born to the light
with the cry and the blessing of its mother
who embraces him
in his first breath
in the birth
of all Hope,
In the Born.

The courage of the Ukrainians becomes more evident every day. And the cowardice and corruption of the Russian state is obvious when they continue to commit "crimes against humanity" by insisting on bombing civilians and destroying their property as a way of some medieval siege that they should know will fail just like Napoleon and Hitler did moving on Russia and losing.
Thank you for posting both in Spanish and English your poem of the state of democracy in the Ukraine.
