It is easier to look the other way and go about our business. Unless we are Bill Gates and can throw money at the problem.

My greatest pleasure was mowing my 95 yr old neighbor's lawn--until I mowed into a cottontail nest. The dead and survivors disappeared overnight so that I could finish the job with wounded conscience.

Oh Eileen, beautiful analogy! That pic is grand! There are organizations worldwide that have opened markets for handicrafts and artwork of third-world countries. This I think is one example of faith in action and can mean the difference in a family's survival...

Indeed. Our world has divided itself into classes, colors, religions, governments and the bottom line is - we're destroying ourselves. Every time we chose to withhold goodness from another, for whatever reason, we kill ourselves. I guess that is why evil has conquered the world thus far. Good people are too busy doing nothing.

The superb photo of the two horses caring for the fawn demonstrates the need for more love and compassion in our own human existence..

You go to the root and heart of the dilemma here, people must learn to accept others for their own intrinsic value and essence, if this world is to have any chance of survival !

You put these pictures to good use Eileen, in your composition of such a sage piece of work. If we could learn to be more accepting, as animals are, and see the similarities instead of the differences, we would stand a better chance of becoming one world-one people. Very nicely done, Eileen.

Remember the mirror in the ZOO? It has a sign hanging above it which says "EARTH"S MOST DANGEROUS SPECIES", and when you move ahead, to see, your own reflection is looking back at you! Maybe we should try that in some of these places! Excellent write - and pics, Eileen.

Ogre Ed does love this picture, Tiger Lily - and this poem. If only more people had such Horse Sense. And it seems that lately I am hearing more and more about different animals compassionately helping out an animal of another kind. Sometimes I truly wonder which species on earth is truly the wisest.

Good stuff and I agree, but you know, Eileen, we have been trying to teach those in parts of Africa to fish as long as I have been alive and longer even, they are still starving. Comes a time when you just have to wonder, as was said once, "What's it all about, Alfie," and go home.
