I found this info and architecture fascinating, so I thought I'd share it. China is preparing for the future, but also for the 2008 Olympics. I am more concerned about China's power and the role it plays in abetting terrorism than any other nation on this planet!

I have such respect for the way you ably tackle these subjects Eileen...excellent reminders as we peaceful types, who are so blessed with our freedoms, can only imagine the situations of the world having never had to face the harsh realities of regime and war and hate...There is a big difference.
If this building were "SELF" sustainable, with their own food source as well as power and water, that would be something to see, but I still would rather live out in the boonies in my self-contained motorhome, as a building like the one the chinese have there would be so like living in a plastic world, ya know...? Thank God we don't live in a Totalitarian Regime like Communist China, which crushes and tramples Human Rights underfoot like a blundering elephant, and slaughters millions of female babies every year, and is oppressing the peace loving people of Tibet, and stoking up horror in the Middle East by arming the terrorists..
To crown it all they economically bankrupting the West by flooding the market with their cheap goods, created on the back of disgusting sweat shops and forced labor !

In 1965 I was 18 years old and witnessed war for the first time wrote in my journal how bewildered I was having to fight because of the greed of a few. Some things never change.
Most people, I believe, live with blinders on, and see only what is in front of them. They respond like a Pavlov Dog to their basic needs and desires and, at the cost of all around them, only embrace what is good for them.
If we can find anyone that breaks this stereotypical mode, someone who really communicates, and loves their fellow man, someone who can give instead of take, someone who can think of another instead of themselves, we have found a rare flower that stands alone in an ever increasing wasteland of self-centeredness and me-ism.
China, the Kings of the East, is not a sleeping giant anymore, they have already stretched and arisen, and they are viewing the planetary horizons with a keen eye ... waiting for the perfect moment.
