Poem Artwork

An oldie

i was only a little drop
but i caused a big splash
others hit the crops
but i fell on a ladies lash
blending with a tear
this tiny drop of rain
knew a moments fear
when i felt her  pain
between the lashes caught
a sense that love is lost
each breath seems fraught
knowing there'll be a cost
so many emotions combined
tearing the nerve-ends apart
a branding iron searing the mind
while anguish  scars the heart
a blink and I'm on her face
heading towards my demise
i mourn for the human race
and the misery i saw in her eyes

You know what they say about oldies...they're the goodies in life and this is no exception. Eileen your wisdom rocks with every word.
Wow! My friend, this one is a keeper. How did it ever get past me the first time. Most exceptional my friend.

Oh wow! this is great...this has deep heartfelt passion and a wonderful imagination...last year I had my students write a short story of their life as a raindrop, it was great, but this year I might choose to allow them to become a single tear...you keep writing your work is great!
your friend at the den...

Respected Poet,

It is more galore of gallant words... With more compassion and devotion.
The best part of the poem is that which raptrous the readers, makes the imagination into real.
God Bless you,

I am always amazed at the talent of poets to put themselves in other places and speak in the voice of other entities! Well done, ET.

Much can be achieved out of pain if only we can raise up to expectations. But I admit not everyone has that capacity. Sad poem for a Monday morning, but quite beautiful in its mournful tone. Victor

yes, we can mourn for the human race and its sense of hopelessness but we can also celebrate the potential of its growing pains ...

Powerfully compelling, Eileen. A rain drop mixed with a tear drop...both are cleansing though one is born in hope and the other in pain. Nice write.
Take care,
Sherry
