Night gave way to dazzling dawn
the sun burst forth

The rays  blinding my sight making
me squint to watch as you leave me
yet again

Your back caught by the suns glare
a figure in yellow mist

Your love fluid still between my
thighs as you fade out of sight

I sigh as I lie back on my patio
lounge a soft breeze in the palm trees

Hoping to forget that
the passion of your love is fading

I feel  a sunbeam kiss my lips,which
had been glazed with your essence

The summer scent of floral sweetness
permeates the air

I wonder is that kiss now fused into
my DNA fired by the sun

Strange  in the haze of golden sunlight
I have one of my darkest moments

For years our friendship has grown
while our meetings become more rare

Autumn is waiting in the wings
can winter be far behind

I see fast-forward to our relationship in
reality, fading into the mist of sunrise

My dear Eileen,
I feel a lot of sadness in this, like you're losing it, like soon there'll be no more. But let me suggest that one of the great passions of life is not physical, alone, but a blending with emotional and spiritual.

I'm with my lover from the moment I awaken in the morning 'til lights out in the evening. And then what? We talk more. Almost every night we talk in the dark for an hour or more. Don't ask me what we have left to say after a full day and evening together. But it rarely fails.

And let me give you hope. Your lines, "Autumn is waiting in the wings, can winter be far behind" has the aroma of dread. Well, let me confess I'm in the deep winter of life and I've never been happier or had more fun or more loving in my life. Sometimes in my winter-of-life it's like Christmas morning as a little kid--can't wait to see what's under the tree.

I hope those reading your beautiful poem will know there's magic to be had. If this poem is any part autobiographical, then put your mind to work, my dear, with my old never-worn-out words: "What I focus upon becomes reality. I have the power to choose. I'm choosing fulfillment and contentment, and fun-loving times to boot. Fill me with joy right here, Lord, 'cause I ain't ready to give it up yet!"

Focus on your perfect reality. Then go for it. Surprise! Most times it turns out to be right where you are, with a new dimension.

Happy times, sweetheart.
Richard

A sweet sensual muse, sugar chum. I sense a soft melancholy air permeating the lines, as if the heart is yearning for something that only the minds eye sees. I hope all is well with you!
