This Is Who I Am

I am a person, often, with a kind word,
I try hard to always share a smile,
I cry, because I have a soft heart,
I have patience with an adult or a child.

I try to find the good in all,
For it's there so plain, for all to see,
I chose to be kind and thoughtful,
That's how I want you to be with me.

I want to make the sun shine,
Followed by a rainbow so bright,
I want to shine on all your dark days,
And make your wrongs, all right.

I want to wipe away your tears,
That others seem to make you cry,
I want to be that part of you,
This is who I am and the reason why.

I want to hold you in my arms,
And whisper it will be all right,
I want you to be thankful for your day,
When you rest your head each night.

I will have you in my heart always,
I just want you to understand,
You really mean the world to me,
Because, this is who I really am.
