Yes Life is a pattern that we have no choice but to follow. We Smile and others smile, we cry and others feel our pain and if we are angry they become angry with us and usually don't know why. We have to accept, inspect and respect all who surround us. That's what our expectations through life should be.

Expectations In Life

Through life we have come to
Accept some things,
Inspect others,
And respect what's to be,
As the years go flying by,
We soon connect to reality.

We will live until we die,
Each day we'll smile frown or cry,
We will crawl, walk run
or slowly creep,

Like a pattern,
Life is layed out for us,
We cannot change one thin,
Unless we change all,
We make our lives what it is,
By choice, it is our call.

We wake in the morning,
And from that moment we make a choice,
Will we smile , frown or cry,
No one can ruin our day, only us,
No matter how hard they try.

We look into the face of others,
And we are responsible for their mood,
We smile, and they gently return it.
We respect what is to be,
As the years go flying by,
And return to what we know as reality.

Oh I could just pass the whole day away reading your poems. They are so good and uplifting and you do fine as a poet and are a great help to me. This is especially one of my favorites of yours.

I like this very much. Life is what it is most days and then some days you can make it lighter for another. Nicely penned. Lady J

Rose, I've always said, "No one holds our lives in the palm of their hand but us." We own our choices, be it good or bad, & we are the one who builds our lives...as we want to live them...it's our choice. This is a great write & it makes us stop and ponder our choices. Thanks for sharing it!

Good writing, Rose. It's so true that we are a mirror for others and what we do influences them and can sometimes cause great changes in their lives.

We make our lives what it is,
By choice, it is our call.

It truly is, Rose.

Interesting and real ideas expressed here Cuz, and you are right, we can choose to smile or not smile and our choice can affect those around us...often to create a chain reaction that no one knows where it will stop.
