Grow Old Gracefully

There is no choice, we all must age at sometime in our life. Aging doesn't mean we have to get old, because we are only as old as we chose to be. Grow old gracefully and be proud of it.
I've got too much living to do, to let myself get old before my time, so I will just grow old gracefully and be proud of who I see in the mirror looking back at me.

Grow Old Gracefully

There comes that time in life,
When we all must age,
Like finishing a book,
as we turn to each new page.

The story seems to get our interest,
And so will our age with time,
The beauty we've hidden for years,
Will now show through each line.

No more need to use that makeup,
With age, we find the real beauty,
That's always been deep within us,
For us to share so willingly.

We can be proud of our years,
Parade ourselves, for all to see,
Cause there isn't any shame,
To grow old gracefully.

Who says we have to go grey,
Wear dresses to the floor,
We can keep in style and,
Grow gracefully for sure.

I agree sis, age is but a number and beauty is in the eyes of the beholder/my husband and children and is only skin deep anyway. The beauty of the heart and soul is what is most important. Yes we have so much unfinished works/goals we want to accomplish before our time is up and even then I plan on keeping busy way up in the heavens.
Beautiful write sis.
Love you
Selena

Rose, this poem erased quiet a few facial lines as I read and enjoyed every line. I live every day to look the best I can and give it all I have and I still feel young. Loved this!!

Wonderful sharing of your pen, I enjoy reading your point of views and your creations by way of lyrical too!

Enjoy and take care,

I completely agree dear Cuz, and that is why the next time you come to Nova Scotia for a summer vacation I will be wearing my spandex gym shorts everywhere we go and lets not forget my mini Speedo bathing suit....oh don't feel bad I am going to pick up a polka dot bikini for you.
Serously though this is a great work and it has a great lesson wrapped up in it for all to read. Hugs.

Rose,
I am so honored to be your friend, I share the same sentiments...I believe that a person gets more beautiful with age. Age is merely a number it is all in what you feel inside!

Aging doesn't mean we have to get old, because we are only as old as we choose to be.

I truly believe that our mindset has much to do with how we see ourselves, and very often, even how we feel.
