I am one of these that despise being alone day or night but refuses to be alone at night. I find I toss and I turn till the wee hours of morning. I try telling myself to close my eyes and go off to dreamland but it just won't work for me.
Sometimes Late At Night
Sometimes when it feels cold, Just sometimes late at night, I get to feeling kind of lost and weary, Like things just aren’t going right.
Sometimes when it seems so dark, With no flicker of light in sight, I get that lonely familiar feeling, Like things just aren’t going right.
Sometimes when my bed is empty, I think of you so far away at night, I wipe away a gentle tear I cry, Like Things just aren’t going right.
Sometimes when I wake through the night, And think another night for sleep to fight, Don’t know why I toss till daylight comes, I guess it’s just sometimes late at night.
Then I open my eyes to see a new day, I’ve survived another dark lonely night, And realize things are going to be okay, Ya I believe things are going to be alright.
Rose, this feeling stirs the heart and mind as we lie in wait for morning to come...that lonely feeling eating at your very soul. I've know this well!

Weird, after being over 5 yrs alone day night night day, i'm thinking enuff, time to seek the right lass, nearly did, a NY yank at that, but i was not her only mr right.....
I think we can all relate to the tossing and turning and disruptive night's sleeplessness. I say my prayers, and that helps. I like your upbeat realization that EVERYTHING will be alright.
As I sit here in only my undies in a room, lit only by my screen, the hum of the furnace the only voice and I look at the clock on the scree and it reads 3:43 I read your words and know that I am not alone for I have a freind across the miles who can write such beauty as this. Sleep well dear Cuz...Fee

Very nice write sis, thank God I don't mind being alone in the dark. I actually find it peaceful and relaxing, like tonight, my man is at his sister's and I can write to my heart's content. Yes I miss him but I also treasure my bit of private time.
I don't like being by myself at night; this is why I sleep with a stuffed animal or with my twin sister in the other room; that always helps me. Or I put on some music or say my prayers; that works wonders, too. I am scared of the dark, so being by myself at night is especially terrifying to me. Very well penned, Rose; brava!
